The oldest golf course in the Czech Republic was inaugurated by the British King Edward VII. in 1905. The golf course is a fineexample of Scottish and Irish golf architecture from the end of the 19th century. The beautiful landscape of forest park, the slightly undulating terrain and thanks to high altitude fresh air make playing in Marianske Lazne a delight. The English style clubhouse puts the finishing touch to the great atmosphere. Although one century old, the golf course in Marianske Lazne is among the most challenging in the Czech Republic. Its qualities were confirmed by numerous top golf events that were held here - PGA European Tour,European Mens Team Championship and many others. In 2006 the Royal Golf Club Marianske Lazne will host the famous St. Andrews Trophy. In 2003 the club was granted the royal title by Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II. as an appreciation of historic relationships between the British Royal Family and Marianske Lazne.
